The app which had an important role in PCs, smartphones and tablets has finally found its way to gaming consoles, the PS4 and PS3 platforms.
It is an exclusive deal, Sony confirms. However, the deal is only for the time being and it may soon land on Microsoft's Xbox One, Xbox 360 consoles as well. While no official news have been revealed related to this, it is being said that it may last for a couple of months or an entire year.
The next gen consoles don't have the exclusives that they deserve. Instead, the PS4 is largely relying on porting last gen games for the time being while big players like Uncharted 4: A Thief's End has been postponed to 2016. Instead of titles, the developers and publishers are focusing on apps that will add value to the platform owners. Spotify is one such addition that will make PS4 owners happy as well as those who are still using their PS3 consoles to enjoy game titles.

While Playstation 4 console has got a huge lead against its competitor Xbox One in the gaming arena, having Spotify as an exclusive addition sweetens the deal. The music streaming platform has over 30 million songs on it and is available on almost every other platform and has user curated lists to keep your ears ringing all day long.
At the moment, the launch will be effective in 41 countries at the same time. Sony confirms that users in other regions will soon receive the app as an update rolls out. Some regions will not be getting the service because the music app is not legally available yet in these locations and there are copyright issues to overcome.

If you have already used Spotify on your phone or desktop, using it on the PS4 console will be completely different. The interface has been modified to suit the one found on the console and it has been split into tiles as seen in Windows OS. It doesn't run as complete software as found on smartphones but rather uses tile based design. You have to move to different screens to be able to find curated lists, top trending and more music. Gamers can also have songs as a background while they are play titles. Enjoying a game of GTA 5 should be an apt choice.
