Chinese smartphone-maker OnePlus is getting ready to launch a successor to its highly successful smartphone, OnePlus One, which had received the title of 'Flagship Killer.' OnePlus has not yet released the technical specifications of the next-gen phone dubbed OnePlus Two, but there have been rumors about the features of the upcoming smartphone. Last week, the OnePlus Two had been spotted on the Geekbench Benchmark testing site with the model number OnePlus One A2001, revealing its key specifications. The upcoming smarphone has again been spotted on a Chinese benchmarking site with matching specifications, but a different model number and screen details.
OnePlus Two has been expected to feature even better hardware specifications and features than its predecessor to provide users with improved mobile performance and flexibility. Earlier rumors have suggested that the OnePlus Two could come with a 5.5-inch display having a resolution of 2,560 X 1,440 pixels and would be powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM and 3,100 mAh battery.
True to expectations, the leaked GeekBench benchmark test showed the OnePlus Two would come with Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be powered by a Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, paired with 3GB of RAM. The Geekbench Benchmark test also revealed that the purported OnePlus Two received a score of 1256 for single-core and 4093 for multi-core. In Geekbench benchmarking, a score of more than 1000 marks in single core and 3,500 in multi-core is considered to be great.
An alleged OnePlus Two prototype has now made its way to Chinese benchmarking website Ludashi, but with a different model number A2003, as against A2001 on Geekbench. The specifications of the OnePlus Two listed on the Chinese website match those found on Geekbench, except for the display, which is reported to be a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel full HD screen, same as the one featured in its predecessor, the OnePlus One.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has earlier hinted that the OnePlus Two could be available at a price of about $400 and if the leaked specifications are indeed true, then the upcoming smartphone could turn out to be another flagship killer available at an affordable price. No official release date has been set for the OnePlus Two, but the company is widely expected to launch the device in Q3 2015.
